Cherry Creek Longhorns
At Cherry Creek Longhorns, our mission is simple: produce premium Texas Longhorn beef for families throughout northeast Oklahoma. Our cattle are pasture raised, grain finished, and managed from birth to harvest at Fallen Timbers Farm. The result is Cherry Creek Longhorn Beef—naturally lean beef with exceptional flavor and tenderness.
Texas Longhorn beef is naturally lower in fat than many traditional beef breeds while still delivering the rich beef flavor customers expect. From the genetics we select to the way our cattle are raised and finished, every decision we make is focused on producing exceptional beef. Whether you’re looking for individual cuts, beef bundles, or filling your freezer, we’re committed to providing premium local beef you can trust.
How We Raise Our Cattle
Our cattle spend their lives on pasture, where grass is the foundation of their diet. Throughout the year, we provide supplemental grain when needed to ensure they receive the nutrition they need to grow and thrive.
During the final 60–90 days before harvest, our cattle enter a carefully managed grain-finishing program. This finishing period enhances marbling, tenderness, and flavor while preserving the naturally lean qualities Texas Longhorn beef is known for.
From quality pasture and fresh water to free-choice minerals and regular handling, every stage of our management is focused on raising healthy cattle and producing exceptional beef.
We believe producing great beef starts with raising great cattle.
The Story Behind Cherry Creek Longhorns
Texas Longhorns have been one of Michael’s lifelong passions. Years ago, we raised a small Longhorn herd before stepping away from the breed to care for his great-grandfather’s commercial beef cattle. After inheriting Grandpa’s herd, we continued that family tradition for several years, but the dream of returning to Texas Longhorns never faded.
When the opportunity came to start again, we chose to build a registered herd from the ground up with one goal: producing exceptional local beef while preserving the Texas Longhorn breed we love.
Our herd name, Cherry Creek Longhorns, comes from the creek that begins on our farm and winds through our pastures before eventually joining the Caney River. It seemed like the perfect name for a herd that’s rooted in the land we call home.
The Herd Behind the Beef
Our breeding herd is the foundation of everything we do.
All of our breeding cattle are TLBAA registered and carefully selected for disposition, structural correctness, maternal ability, and productivity. Every generation is an opportunity to improve the quality of the herd and the beef it produces.
While our primary focus is producing Cherry Creek Longhorn Beef, we occasionally have registered breeding cattle available for sale. Any available cattle can be found on our Livestock for Sale page.
From time to time, Michael also retains one of the friendliest steer calves to train as a riding steer, preserving one of the unique traditions of the Texas Longhorn breed.
