Cherry Creek Longhorns

Longhorns have been Michael’s passion for years.  We had a couple several years ago & sold them when he started caring for his great grandpa’s beef cattle.  He inherited those cattle when grandpa passed away so for many years we just ran a small herd of commercial beef cattle.  Grandpa’s cattle eventually got old & are no longer with us.  Michael wanted his longhorns back so we decided to go with a registered herd this time. Our herd name comes from the creek that originates in our pasture & eventually runs into the Caney River.  All of our cattle are TLBBA registered. Michael plans to saddle break some of the steer calves but we’ll retain all steer calves each year. Those that don’t have the temperament to be saddle steers will be raised for beef to feed our family & we will offer longhorn beef to customers by early 2026.  Longhorn beef is leaner than any other red meat & is a much healthier option for those with cholesterol issues that still want a steak. The Longhorns have their own Facebook page & Instagram pages, follow them there for updates. If we have cattle for sale it’ll be noted below their photos.

This is a big framed heifer with horns that look like they’re really going to twist. We’re excited to have her in our herd! She’ll be bred to JD late this year for a fall 2026 calf.

*Info Coming Soon*

“Maggie” is a 2023 TLBBA Heifer

Maggie was bred by Ironside Longhorns & is JD’s half sister. She’s still pretty small for a 2 year old so we’re holding off on getting her bred this year. We will see how she grows over the winter & if she remains small we’ll have her reclassified as a miniature & offer her for sale. She’s got incredible horns for her age & if she stays small she’ll be a great addition to a miniature breeding program.

*CCL Definitely a Diamond

“Parker” is a 5/2024 Heifer

Parker came with her momma Patsy from a local livestock sale. She’s a thick, big bodied heifer that looks like a show calf. She’s got great potential to produce beef calves. *We just found out that she can be registered & is in fact from a prominent show breeder’s herd! That explains why she looks like she does & we will get her registered soon!

*CCL Sweet Revival

“Paisley” is a 6/2025 Heifer

She’s out of our sale barn find Patsy & is baby sister to Parker. Patsy ended up being a 3 in 1 package, she was carrying this heifer when we bought her.
