Cherry Creek Longhorns
Longhorns have been one of Michael’s lifelong passions. Years ago, we had a small herd before taking a break from longhorns to care for his great-grandfather’s beef cattle. After inheriting grandpa’s cattle, we continued running a small herd of commercial beef cattle for several years — but the dream of returning to Longhorns never faded.
When the time came to rebuild, Michael decided to start fresh with a registered Texas Longhorn herd, combining his love for the breed with his deep respect for family farming traditions. Our herd name, Cherry Creek Longhorns, comes from the creek that starts & runs through our pasture, eventually flowing into the Caney River.
Our Herd & Breeding Program
All of our breeding cattle are TLBAA registered, carefully selected for disposition, confirmation, and productivity.
Michael plans to saddle-break the friendliest of our steer calves while retaining the others for our longhorn beef program. We’re retaining all heifer calves at this time to continue building our herd.
Longhorn beef is naturally leaner than traditional red meats and is a great choice for those who want a healthier alternative without sacrificing flavor. We plan to begin offering Longhorn beef to customers by early 2026, alongside our other farm-raised products.
Our Longhorns are raised on pasture, handled regularly, and treated with the same respect and care as every animal at Fallen Timbers Farm.

“Maggie” is a 2023 TLBAA Heifer
Maggie was bred by Ironside Longhorns & is JD’s half sister. She’s still pretty small for a 2 year old so we’re holding off on getting her bred this year. We will see how she grows over the winter & if she remains small we’ll have her reclassified as a miniature & offer her for sale. She’s got incredible horns for her age & if she stays small she’ll be a great addition to a miniature breeding program.

*CCL Definitely a Diamond
“Parker” is a 5/2024 TLBAA Heifer
Parker came with her momma Patsy from a local livestock sale. She’s a thick, big bodied heifer that looks like a show calf. That explains why she looks like she does & we will get her registered soon!
