Cherry Creek Longhorns
Longhorns have been Michael’s passion for years. We had a couple several years ago & sold them when he started caring for his great grandpa’s beef cattle. He inherited those cattle when grandpa passed away so for many years we just ran a small herd of commercial beef cattle. Grandpa’s cattle eventually got old & are no longer with us. Michael wanted his longhorns back so we decided to go with a registered herd this time. Our herd name comes from the creek that originates in our pasture & eventually runs into the Caney River. Most of our cattle are TLBBA registered. Michael plans to saddle break some of the steer calves. We’ll retain all steer calves each year & those that don’t have the temperament to be saddle steers will be raised for beef to feed our family & will likely offer longhorn beef to customers soon. Longhorn beef is leaner than any other red meat & is a much healthier option for those with cholesterol issues that still want a steak. The Longhorns have their own Facebook page & Instagram pages, follow them there for updates. If we have cattle for sale it’ll be noted below their photos.

Black Label Ironside
“JD” 4/2022 TLBBA Bull
JD’s first calf crop hit the ground fall of 2024 & we couldn’t be happier with them!

Bar F 055 Copenhagenkiss
“Coco” 2/2005 TLBBA Cow
Coco delivered what is likely her 17th calf in January 2025. She’ll be exposed back to JD.

Patsy
“Patsy” Age unknown, Unregistered Cow
Patsy is a sale barn find & she’s absolutely perfect. She’s the sweetest cow on the place. We’re tracking her brand down to see if she’s got papers somewhere.

2M Shelly
“Shelly” 1/2016 TLBBA Cow
Shelly is raising her 2nd steer in a row for us this fall. She’s registered as a mini but is definitely not mini so we’re getting her papers corrected!

Super Grande Field 4B
“Barbara Jean” 7/2018 TLBBA Cow
Barbara Jean gave us a gorgeous little bull calf this fall by JD. She’s an excellent mother & with that color what’s not to love?

C3 Destiny Dust
“Reba” 11/2018 TLBBA Cow
Reba’s horns are just incredible. We were thrilled when she gave us a loud colored heifer by JD in 2024!

Parker
“Parker” is a 5/2024 Unregistered Heifer
Parker came with her momma Patsy from a local livestock sale. Her color caught our attention & we had to have the pair!

CCL One Chance Fancy
“Fancy” is a 9/2024 TLBBA Heifer
Fancy is out of Reba & sired by JD. With her dam’s horns we’re pretty much committed to keeping all of her daughters as long as we have room!

CCL ??
“???” is a 1/2025 TLBBA Heifer
This heifer is out of Coco & sired by JD. We prayed for a heifer out of our old girl and 3 weeks before her 20th birthday she delivered this beautiful girl.

Ralph
2023 Steer
We bought this guy from JD’s breeder. He’s a half brother to JD. This guy will be a butcher steer, we bought him for that purpose.

Walter
2023 Steer
Walter is out of Shelly, she had him at her side when we purchased her. This guy will be a butcher steer, he was very wild as a calf & definitely does not have the temperament to be a saddle steer/pet.

Harry
2023 Steer
Harry is also from JD’s breeder & is JD’s half brother. This guy will be a butcher steer, we bought him for that purpose.

Ricky Bobby
2024 Steer
Out of Barbara Jean & sired by JD. Michael is starting him in a halter & depending on how he does he may be broke to ride.

Cal
2024 Steer
Out of Shelly & sired by JD. Michael is starting him in a halter & depending on how he does he may be broke to ride.
